Girls Party Tips

Birthday parties for girls offer opportunities to play make believe, dress up or live out a fantasy. Teen heartthrobs can be the focal point of a party. Guests can dress in their finest and play at applying make-up and nail polish. Others might prefer something like party planned around being a princess or even a superhero. Whatever your little girl’s dreams are, her birthday party is one occasion when she has the chance to live them, even if only for a few hours.

Picking a Theme

Chances are you already know what your daughter likes and can pick something she’ll adore. Asking for her input might make her feel more grown up as she gets to help plan her own special day. You can use a theme to help coordinate decorations, costumes, tableware even the games and activities for the day. Be sure to take into account how much time you are willing to put in for setting up, running the activities and post party clean up when choosing your theme.

How Far to Carry a Theme

The choice of how far to carry your theme is really up to you. Most cake outlets can provide birthday cakes customized to your theme. Some will even do specialty cakes from photographs you supply. In order for a party to really be a themed girl’s party, the very minimum you will need is a well laid table decorated in accordance with the theme. If you are having a princess-type party, the flatware, though plastic, should look like shiny gold. Party favors might consist of simple tiaras or fake pearl necklaces. For teen heartthrob party, small picture frames with a color picture printed from your computer could be treasured keepsakes.

Costume Party

Consider whether or not you want guests to attend your little girl’s party wearing a costume in keeping with your theme or not. Guests who dress up can help save the host a little money. If you want to accent the costume by providing tiaras, magic wands or hair and jewelry accents, you can. These items can be part of the party favors they take home at the end of the party.
